About the Author: Stephen King is an American writer who many writes books of horror, science fiction, and suspense. Some of his most notable books include The Shining, Carrie, Misery, Stand By Me, and It. Many of his books have been adapted into films. He has been writing for over 27 years, and as of 2010, has written 49 books.
About the book: The Dead Zone is a tale about Johnny Smith, a school teacher who is involved in a nearly fatal car accident and is put in a coma for almost 5 years. When Johnny wakes up, he discovers he has psychic powers, and is able to see visions of horrifying secrets. He see these visions in his "dead zone", an area of his brain that was permanently damaged as a result of the accident, however, he cannot see the details of his visions. As Johnny gains more and more public attention, he eventually has a vision of a terrible fate that awaits mankind.
